In an exchange of gratitude, Mayor Powell shakes the hand of Christian Pack, a Conroe High School sophomore and member of the football team.
Conroe, TX, June 8, 2017- Mayor Toby Powell met with Conroe High School (CHS) Football player Christian Pack to receive an update and discuss The Conroe Tigers Classic Golf Tournament held earlier this month. During the meeting, Pack delivered a personal thank you to the Mayor from the team and Booster Club for his role in recruiting significant sponsorship from a local business for the tournament, making it one of their most successful tournament events in recent years.
“I graduated from Conroe High as did my father, brother, and two sons,” said Mayor Powell. “It is an honor and privilege to visit with the members of the football team, and I’ll do all I can to help the program.” Mayor Powell says he plans to continue to reach out to the business community of Conroe to recruit more support for the program.
“Having the support of the Mayor’s Office means a great deal to the Boosters, we are very appreciative” said Dawson Schnautz, the current President of the Conroe High Football Booster Club. “The Boosters work very hard to unite and rally the community to get behind and support the Conroe High School Football program.”
The Conroe Tigers Classic is held annually and is the major fundraising event for the Conroe Tigers Booster Club. The event is critical to raising funds that go directly to the team for game-day meals, equipment, and other needs that are not not available through the CISD budget.
The CHS Conroe Tigers Football Booster Club is a Texas nonprofit corporation organized in 2008. The purpose of The Booster Club is to raise supplemental funds to be used by the CHS football program and to provide volunteer support for student activities and events that promote development and recognition of the CHS football program.
